What is positivity? Why do you think being positive is important?

What is positivity?

We all have heard this, "Stay positive", "Think positive" from our friends and family. But what does it really mean?
There could be numerous answers to this question. 
  • It could be defined as a practice of being happy, positive and optimistic.
  • Also, it could be termed as feeling good about things around you.
  • And, positivity also could be eliminating negativity, sadness and gloomy thoughts out of your life.

All these are correct and valid. But is the question good enough?
What I feel is, the correct question should be, 

"Is it necessary or even possible to stay POSITIVE every time?"

Let's answer this.

No, you don't have to be positive all the time. It's not possible for a human being to be happy and optimistic every time. Situations change and so does your state of mind. You will feel down at times when things go wrong. You may also lose your cool when things don't feel the way you want them to.
But you really don't have to worry if it feels negative at times because remember you are a human.

This doesn't mean you will let negativity take over yourself! 
You should not and mind that you will not. 
Being worried about something is fine but to be sad or negative for long is not. I know its not easy but you need to. You need to get back to what's called 'Life'.

Then, what should you do in that situation?

Its very important to know this, so remember you make a note of it!
  1. Talk to people around you who would listen to you, understand you and make you feel comfortable. This will help you cope with problems easily. 
  2. Go for things you love to do, be it anything, singing, dancing, writing, listen to music or whatever makes you feel good. It would make you forget negative things and you will enter a world devoid of all the negative and gloomy thoughts.
  3. Learn new things, something you wanted to learn. Learn it now! This is difficult in between all the sad thoughts but if you try it will surely help.
  4. Go for walks. It feels pleasant when in touch with the nature.
  5. Finally, Feeling sad? Cry! But get over it.

Life is all about ups and downs and it will show everyone of us difficult times too.

But you don't have to give up. Believe me you can and you will.
